Our speakers this month are Marcus & Millichap Vice President and Regional Manager Greg Wendelken and Marcus & Millichap Capital Corporation Associate Director Corr Pearce.

 

This month's meeting will focus largely on one of Marcus & Millichap's specialties:  multi-family communities.  Our speakers will lend their formidable expertise to our education of what CAP rates are, what other factors should be considered, potential pitfalls, proforma financials and financing.   We will also discuss market trends on local, regional and national levels, the importance of operational care, keeping income and expenses in line and more. 

 

Our speakers and their firms are by no means new to this arena.  

Prior to joining the management ranks, Greg previously was a Senior Investment Sales Associate with Marcus & Millichap where he closed nearly 100 million dollars of investment properties, specifically specializing in the sale of apartment properties throughout the Western United States.   

The Seattle office, under Greg's management direction since August 1998, has closed in excess of $2 Billion in Investment Sales; the majority being apartments and retail.

Greg was also a Regional Real Estate Director with Arnel Management Company, overseeing the leasing and management of a 1,000,000+ square foot office and industrial portfolio.

A native of Southern California, Greg received his B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Real Estate/Finance from the University of Southern California.

Marcus & Millichap Capital Corporation (MMCC) sourced more than $1.5 billion in commercial real estate loans in 2006. Corr is responsible for overseeing loan originations and closings in the firm’s Seattle office. Corr has an extensive background underwriting and analyzing commercial real estate transactions, including project definition and development, construction, brokerage and finance.

As an originator, Mr. Pearce works closely with the firm’s real estate investment professionals to ensure that each client obtains financing that complements their real estate investment goals. He offers the full spectrum of loan structures, including permanent, interim, bridge and mezzanine.Prior to joining MMCC, Corr was a principal at International Capital Group in Silverdale and Issaquah.

Corr has managed a $120 million national leased property portfolio and multiple technical space projects for an Internet firm, as well as establishing a partnership for financing of a residential/commercial real estate firm. While at the firm, he analyzed financial proposals for multiple $30 million real estate projects.

Corr's studies include computer science at Washburn University in Topeka and mathematics at the University of Alaska in Kodiak.  Corr is an active member of the Bellevue Rotary, an adviser at a local elder care facility and a Lieutenant in the United States Coast Guard Reserves.
